Col's Computer Services

First day of peace and quiet and nothing planned!!! Well, for me at least. Col has gone to Walkern to fix all the computers he can get his hands on today. Not for me, no thanks! Just had a bath, oh! Been researching jobs, reading, eating liqourice and listening to The Stones and A-ha : )

Not a bad day! Just can't believe how busy we've been since we landed back from Asia. In Sweden we had 1 night off that was all and as I said, this is my first day to chill... Poor Col still has to wait for that! Oh, nevermind! Hopefully we won't be chilling out for too long though as work is needed.... Should hopefully be moving back to London next week - so exciting!!!

Here's God!

Ser han inte piffig ut i sin Jade Grona jacka!

ROLLING STONES!!!!!

How cool was last night!!!! Woooow!!! They still know how to rock and boogie!!!

This was the set list from last night's gig at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales:

JJ Flash
It's Only Rock And Roll
Oh No It's Not You Again
Let's Spend The Night Together
Live With Me
Streets Of Love
Midnight Rambler
Tumblin' Dice
Slipping Away
Before They Make Me Run
Miss You
Rough Justice
Start Me Up
Honky Tonk Woman
Sympathy For The Devil
Paint It Black
Brown Sugar
(Encoure)

Can't Always Get What You Want
Satisfaction

Kooks were the supporting band (never heard them before, God, they were dull)- their sound system was really rubbish too. I was worried it was just the sound of the stadium, but all was fab when the Stones came on.

Will write more later - now it's time for lunch! Oh, and we saw Alice Cooper too!

For all the Vegetarians out there...

Other stuff we did...

* Had a pre-birthday dinner with Ems at Zorba's where we got all the free coffee we could drink (Ems is the one they all wanna suck up to of course!). Had lots of nice chats too which was about time! Need more of these!!

* Played Kubb with Dad, Col won as always!

* Had mucho Kraftskivor, ooh! Col's in heaven!

* Started watching FireFly with Emsen, cool stuff!

* Went to IKEA (twice) - wohooo! Next time I hope to do some shopping too!

* Watched Kopps with Dad

* Helped Karro move into her new place - it's gorgeous! She'll be there for a little while and has made it look good indeed

* Baked a lot of cakes... MMMmmmm!

* Saw pics from last summer - we were fat!! Too many cakes!

* Went for lovely walks (more like field excurtions when Johan and Lisa came along!)

* Picked gooseberries and mushrooms - found lots of edible ones this time (www.svampguiden.se helped us out)

* Got very drunk and walked home in the rain, then watched Slither with Johan (I fell asleep...)

Did I tell you we just about made our flight from Heathrow btw?? So much hassle with all the no handcreams etc terror threat... Hm... All these women not wanting to hand their make up over... They should have read the news really!

South Öland

Spent today with little brother Johan and his girlie Lisa. Drove all the way to the Southern tip of the island, Ottenby. First we stopped off at Eketorp Borg (fortress from Viking era or such...) and had a quick look around. They have recreated most of the place, made copies of what the houses inside the fortress looked like. They've even recreated the pigs and chickens...oh, maybe they were real! Actually, the pigs were behaving most perculiar, ruining the lawn that's for certain!

Ottenby was full of weird and wonderful birds as always. The place is so gorgeous. Unfortunately the lighthouse called Långe Jan was under scaffolding (which we are used to from our Europe travels...) so we couldn't go up, but we did have a good look around the museum and stuff. Saw lots of massive, fat seals too. So cute!!!

On the way back we went via the West coast (there're 3 roads; one on the East, one West and one in the middle, don't think that one goes all the way though!) and checked out quite a few Pottery Workshops. Nice! And pricey too!

Knackered now! Too much sun and fresh air really can wear you out!

Oh, Auntie Dude is coming around for a little in a minute, best go!

Hemma till sist!

Home at last! Been a few busy days, but not really that busy. We+ve walked around the village, been to the sea, helped Dad out, seen the family and even a couple of friends, the most important one being Ems last night of course! Had a session of Firefly and wine and lots of talking. So nice to catch up! It+s a crying shame that we live so far away from eachother... Col thinks so too, think they have more in common with eachother than they even realize!

OK, gonna go to Ikea for breakfast now, maybe should wake Col up first and tell him the good news!

Sez and Perrys Wedding!

Sarah and Perry finally did it! This is what we left Asia from and was it worth it! Such a cool time. We got our Bug stocked up and hit the road on the Friday. Got to Salisbury, checked into our campsite and watched the sunset. Hooked up with Sez in the evening, made her jump! She came back from the bar and didn't see us so we snuck up right behind her, she turned around and - there we were, right in her face!

Saturday came and time for the Wedding. Got a ride to Old Wardour Castle with Mike and Prisca. Got there in plenty of time and had a chance to check out the castle. It's pretty spectacular! Filmbuffs will know it from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves as Hood's castle.

Ceremony was lovely, Sarah looked stunning, and Perry didn't look to bad either!

Then back to the camping ground, a quick bite to eat, then onto the Rugby Club for the Reception. Both me and Col were so excited, we were gonna get to see Jules and Cheryll!!!! Sat down for a Pimms (ohhh! I love weddings and Pimms!) Then we saw Cheryll and Jules walking along the road (two heads was all we could see!) and ran over to them! Ahh! They looked so fab! The glamour had arrived to Salisbury! Spent the rest of the evening chatting away and getting merry to say the least. We had a bit of a dance and after the standing ovations post Col's Crab Dance it was time to leave. Think we're out of practise when it comes to drinking!

Next morning we hung out with the girlies and made our way to The Reid's for a mighty BBQ. We left at 2ish, did a tour of Salisbury, checked out the Cathedral and St Thomas Church. Lots of pretty old roads and the River Avon looked nice too!

Met a right weirdo in the Cathedral...an American doing commentary to his videoing....."This is the highest spiral in London.....oh, but we're not in London now".....Well???!! All we could do was burst out laughing, I truely hope his rellies here that when they have to sit through his video...!

Then onto STONEHENGE!!!! Cool! First impression was that I thought it'd be bigger, but when we parked up and walked over you could see how massive it really is. How did they build it?!? I was tempted to wear my "Lucia dress" (white big thing it is) which I had packed by mistake and jump around singing some pagan songs... Oh, next time : )

The rest of the drive home was a pretty wet affair... It poured down!!! Thunder and lightening too! And looooots of queues of course! I got a bit wet cos the seals aren't that good around the doors..!

A wicked weekend was had by all!

Bye Bye Havaianas...

Oh no!!! Drama!!
We were walking down the road in town yesterday, had just been to the bank...when...my beloved Havaianas took their last step... My right foot strap came off!!! So there we were, me no shoes!!! Had to walk into Primark (we were luckily almost right outside it!) and buy myself another pair!! Ended up with a lovely pair of brown heels : ) BUT, walking in  them were harder than expected.. Have worn my flip flops for the last 6 months so got a few new blisters now!

Anyway, main thing is - does anyone know how to fix my flip flops?? Will super glue do the trick?? Or will walking over 3 continents just have to be enough, and may they rest in peace??!

Col's birthday and Alton Towers!

Wohoo! What a day!!! Got up rally early and had a singsong for Col. He's getting on a bit now, 24 and all : )

Then Keith and Sam came and got us at 7.30am.... Off we went in Sharon's car. Took about 2 hours to Alton Towers.

Had managed to get 1/2 price tickets and saved ourselves £50! Cool!

Rides we went on were (in order):

Rita, Queen of Speed (0-110km/h in 2 seconds)

Corkscrew (Rollercoaster like a...)

Oblivion (200ft sheer drop!)

Oblivion (no queue so we went again!)

Nemisis (G-Force greater than a Space shuttle takeoff!)

Air (Head first upside down Rollercoaster!)

Katanga Canyon (wet wet wet!)

I didn't get scared at all. Normally I go with my sister or Ems and we like to wind eachother up close to being hysteric! This time it was just pure fun! I like being scared too though!

Rita was the quickest Rollercoaster I've been on. Corkscrew was cool. nice soft bumps. Oblivion wasn't as scary as I thought it'd be! Nemisis was wicked!!! Air - well, a copmpletely new experience! Fab! Finished off the day with the floaty water thing which was nice too.

Ended up back in Walkern at Col's Dad's place for some well deserved cake. Yum! As we#ve insured our Love Bug again we decided to move it to Sharon's house, so the guys got it started no problemo! Cool! We have a car again! Have decided to drive it down to Salisbury too and camp (bit of a money saving plan really!). Got the car taxed this morning too so truely ready to go!

Baby we're back!

Ahhhh! We're back!!! Had a very long and tiring flight (took us 25 hours from door to door). Feeling jetlagged as hell, still! Really hard to get over this one!

Got picked up at the airport by Trev, bit of a soldier as we got in at 6am or so... Had a bit of a trauma as we were about to leave the plane - some idiot had taken a can of shaving creme onboard - it had leaked and the overhead compartment was full of the stuff! AND we had our lovely new suits in there! All our bags were soaked too...! Not what we wanted! Everyone was really helpful though, even the pilot came to check on us : )

Got home, had 45 minutes sleep, did some unpacking and washing (wohh!). At lunchtime we got entertained by Keithyboy, Col jumped him outside and they were both very excited to meet again!

Had a cheese fest all day too : ) Cheese sandwiches for brekkie, cheese on toast for lunch, and I had a STilton Crumble Pie for dinner (Col had Ale and Kidney Pie).

Col's Mum got home about 6, it was lovely to see her again! Brought some orchids back for her and she really liked them : ) Good!

Went out for a nice pub meal with Sharon and Trev, and Col's Auntie and Uncle came along too. What a lovely treat! We were all pretty knackered though. When we got home I fell asleep straight away - lasted longer than I thought I would!

Glad it's a bit warmer here today, even sat in the garden and had our lunch! Think I even caught the sun! Wow! Last night was a joke, soooo coooold! And then we found out that it was 20'c..... That's not cold!! Damn, we've been climatised! Our bodies have a lot to get used to! Like no more rice diet : )

Spoke to Karro yesterday too, can't believe it's been 8 months almost!!! Miss her and the rest sooo much! Not long to go now though!! Oohh! She had lots of news and seem to be enjoying her work at the cafe! Can't wait to go and get some free coffee and waffles!!!

Matty is on his way round so best get going. A few beers in the garden is on the agenda I think : )

Oh, we saw a ladybird yesterday!!! It's like a rare thing for us!!!

Went to Tesco's too today and there's a new type of Marmite in a squeezy bottle! Not sure I like that...!

The Fish Feast has Begun!

Now that we're on our way home we can afford to treat ourselves! Bring on the Mussels! (For Col)
