Holiday

Hello long lost friends!

Just to let you know - we're coming to sweden on the 23rd, just in time for my birthday! SO prepare for a party!

Off to Copenhagen on the 22nd, staying at the Fox Hotel, Ankis and Ems will join us too : ) Then some shopping and then to the homeland for some cake I hope!

Work has been really cool lately, just miss Col though- just wanna see him all the time!

Been on a few cool nights out too, today we've been out with our neighbours Tom and Danielle, really sweet and lovely! Got to know them pretty well too! Nice stuff! Had Col's brother Keith's graduation party a few weeks back too, it was interesting to say the least! His uni mates are rather sweet though! And Keith got a 1st, so he now has proof that he's a clever boy!

Also had Jules birthday fun! Now that really was fun! Lots of nudity for some reason! HEhh!

Next one is Sez's birthday, next week, then Col then myself : ) Busy times!

Wanna let you know that we have a famous neighbour as well! Kind of guessed it was this singer a few months ago, but have had it confirmed today! Cool eh?

Matty came round last night and we watched a film, can't even remeber which one now! Ooohhh!

Gonna chill now, as work tomorrow!

Wondering where we are?

well, we're in sweden at the moment! having a fab chill out time! had remke and marloes over from holland, and matty from home. the girls have just left this morning! been so lovely to see them! been far too long since last time!

we've had midsummer fun of course, been to the beach, had a tour of the island! cool! matty didn't get to see much as per usual he had a couple of nights booked at the airport : ) bad timing yet again! next time, phone and check if the flight is good!

midsummer eve was very cold and rainy but we had a fab time still! lots of lovelyt people and nice food and drinks! had a big lunch too, so it was like an eating marathon! ems couldn't make it over as she had toothache, she's cursed i think when it comes to parties and us in sweden! always something! managed to catch a real midsommar dans too, in the rain and cold wind! the guys had to help to put the pole up, and was it windy or what!??! did some dancing and singing and the girls thought it was just a litttttlllle weird! it was fun though!

been playing lots of kubb too, the girls even bought a set to take home : )

think it's time for some tea and cake now, need to warm up! it's cold and rainy now!

oh, i did go swimming on midsummer day! damn it was cold! good cure for a hangover though!

Gotheborg

Last weekend we saw the lovely old ship Gotheborg. It went up the Thames to HMS Belfast then back home to Sweden via Tower Bridge - it was gorgeous to see it go through the bridge (never seen it up before). Had a fab time.

Chilled out with Col's mum and Trev, went to Science museum too, then home to us for some Chinese alla Col. Mmmm!

Read Col's blog for further details!!!

Week at work was a bit mad, absolutely knackered last night. Col's got a nice holiday before we go away and is looking after me, making me packed lunch and dinner when I get home. And, he's finally been paid! Woooh! To celebrate we went to The Globe Theatre on the South Bank (where else, it is after all the real one, or as real as it gets). We saw The Merchant of Venice and it was absolutely fantastic. The whole place feels magical. You'd think you were back in Shakespearean times, until a plane flew over!

This weekend is not going to plan - got to Great Ashby and Col's ill! He's been asleep most of the day at his Mum's. We've got the step grandparents' 65th Wedding Anniversary to attend later tonight, but I think it's a write off. And Dr Who is on tonight, so I just don't see how we could go anywhere! (Last two episodes have been brill, Jessica Stevenson was in them! Cool!)

Were gonna make Lisa's curry potato salllad for tonight, but I think it'll have to wait!

Oh, the summer has arrived properly now! Hot and sunny at last! This is not good news for the tube though. I gotta start cycling! Absolutely horrid to be stuck next to a load of smelly men! Yuk!

Sweden soon!! Wohooo!

Long time no see

god damn, it's been long! can't do this at workie and have been too tired in the evenings - aaand we don't have broadband yet...!

This will be a very short recap of the last two weeks or such!

Work, food, sleep, ikea, foodshopping, bus journeys, new curtains(jessie not liking these), chilli plant spidermite infestation, walkern fair, guy from spandau ballet, rain, rain, rain, freezing cold, eurovison song contest - last we'll ever watch? viva la france! Highlight of the week was probably trying to carry a sofa bed up into the flat. Got as far as dragging it out of the van and parking it in the middle of our little courtyard! Luckily we have the best neighbours in the world, and a lovely couple Tom&Danielle, shouted from their balcony and offered us a hand! What gems! Lucky for you guys, as otherwise you'd be sleeping in the carpark when you come to visit! This adventure took place last Saturday, we were so exhausted! Were supposed to go and surprise Stuart at his 30th party with Nora, but we were spent! So we watched ESC instead. And there was no David Tennant cos of it either (it's back on tomorrow though). Can't really remember anything else.. Did I say I'm no officially a permanent member of staff? Feels gooood! Can feel the travelling bug coming creeping back in... Maybe do some voluntary work in Africa? Now that would be something... I could look after little kitten tigers maybe?! Oh, I met up with Nick on Wednesday night too. He's really well, was cool to see him. Glad to go home to my sweetpea though  : ) Oh, Oh, Oh, Chris Cornell was playing at the Astoria...! Bit tempting!

Off to see Sez and Perry at the weekend and their little kittens! Cool! Will pop and see Nan Doris too, she's not been well, so we're worried about her... Still waiting for this long queue of friends coming to stay! Where are you all!?!?? Sez will be the first on Wednesday : )

OK, I can smell burning, must mean dinner is ready!

PS. Check out V's travel diary, and her facebook thingy - faaaab skydiving pictures! I'm so jealous!!!!!!

What a beauty!

I was round the flat at 10am today (had a viewing for 1pm, but the girls insisted I'd go earlier), and MY GOD, it's beautiful!!! Sooo lovely!! Crouch End is just a fantastic location!!! I love it!!! The flat was fantastic too! Brand new!! Not bad at all! Pretty good size, and a balcony! Nice!!! Put down a deposit, just have to cough up two grand by Friday for the rest! Arggh! Need to rob a bank! Should be paid on Friday, so might not have to! So pleased!! We move on the 5th!!!! Hoopefully all the references come through ok now so we won't loose it!!!!

Gonna have some toast now, mmm, marmite!

Spring!

Ohhh! I love this time of year! All the leaves are coming out, green everywhere! The lilacs are even out already!!! Fab! Still hot and sunny too! Woohhh! Not that we're going out today, Col's doing some refresher programming, and I'm hunting for flats... Have to move by the 9th, and out of the 6 flats we liked, 4 have gone already... Bit scary! We might end up without somewhere to move to!

Went to Finsbury Park and checked out the posh looking place (will view inside on Wednesday) and I'm not sure about the area. Bit dodgy me thinks!

Had a cool day yesterday, stopped off at Alexandra Palace and went up to the top of the hill, fab views and lovely in the sun. Checked out the TV house as well, first ever TV broadcast from there or something (was also a POW camp in the 2nd world war) - and a Dr Who episode is set there too : )

Col cooked a fab Indian last night, and Sharon & Trev came around. Yum! So nice! Lots of chatting, and we watched the Dr too of course. Darlek people.... Say no more! Not sure about it at the moment though, think I'm missing Rose and her family. The new assistant, Martha, has no storyline as such yet, not network. But I'm sure we'll get there soon! Did I say that John Simm will be in episode 8?! Should be cool!

OK need to get back to flat hunting!

PS. Spoke to Karro Thursday night... She's away this weekend - her new man (Jens) took her away - to Rome! As as surprise! How sweet isn't that!??! She knew nothing, her flatmate told me : ) Other news on the Karro front - she and Amanda have to move out of the flat in June as Mikael's girlfriend is moving in. Good and bad I suppose!

Thursday, 19 April 2007

Oh!

Det ar gront overallt och sommarvarme!!!! helt otroligt och underbart!!! snart helg oxa! Wohoo!

AND... Col har fatt jobb, superjobb at that too! Coolt va?! Nu kanske vi kan komma till sverige oftare!

Easter Feast and Sunburnt!

Friday - coolest day of the year - Cornish feast in Covent Garden

Saturday - drove to Col's Mum's in the afternoon after Col having a playdate at our house with brother Keith. I made little pastry cases filled with tasty chilli veggie mince, mmm! Made a 'nana cake too : ) Had a looovely chat with Emsen too, miss her sooo! Her and Ankis were supposed to come over in May, but they won't now...! Noooo!

Had looooads of food at Sharon and Trev's yum! (Just made it to their house in time for Dr Who!) What a feast! Hung out with them and stayed the night.

Sunday - sat in the garden and had brekkie, mm! So sunny and hot! Headed to Walkern for 12, got there, they had all buggered off to the pub so we played with little puppy Charlie for a while! He's so cute! A little 7 week old border collie pub! He tries to chew everything though! So lovable but god, hard work! Don't think I could ever have one! It's like the same with kids, lovely to play with, but then you give them back!

Chris and his gal Rachel came to Col's Dad's and we decided to head off to the pub with them to find the clan. And they were there, taking in the sunshine and getting toxified! Heheh! Headed back to the house, baked in the sun whilst becoming toxified ourselves (well Col had to drive!)

Diane and Ewan were there too, cool to chat to them! Got myself some veggie sausages as there's no room for me at the Brent meat feasts! But at least I was prepared and Ewan and Chris were very careful with my food which was nice of them.

Got lovely sunburn on my chest, and then we headed off back to see Col's Nan and have a bit of a rest before the drive back home. Started watching a bit of the story about Joanna or whatever her name was, the girl who travelled in Oz in a camper van and her boyfriend got murdered somewhere in the outback.. Freaked me out a little. I know the story well, but never really thought much about it... Us and our camper van... Little scary!

Di+ Ewan has sold their house and are moving to an old farm near Pterborough! Cool! Swimming pool and a forest on their land! Bit of a change! Will have some great weekends there I'm sure!

Monday - stayed in bed for a change, no rush to get up! Done lots of house hunting! Wooh! Exciting! Will hand in our notice today! 1 month to go! Can't wait! Saw another beauty, but it's in Dalston (dodgy bit) such a shame! Oh well! Gonna head off out into the lovely weather in a little bit! Mmmm! Lunch first though!

Speak soon people!

Good Friday

Oh! What a day!!! So hot and sunny! Like proper hot! Like ouch I'm burning hot! Cool!

Firstly we went to check out a flat in Angel, cool location but I think a no no. Col bought himself a pair of specs, which was needed as he's been wearing my ones from Topshop, and I'd like them back please!

Headed off to Covent Garden after that, we had a nice coffee and sun in mind, but I just remembered the lovely Cove Bar, so it was pasties and beer/cider all around! Sat up on their balcony and baked in the sun for a while too! Completely fantastic! Oh oh oh!

Stopped off in Camden for some egg shopping then home! Great great great! So happy!

Gonna go and make a banana cake now, mmm!

Tomorrow is "Keith coming around day", oh! Hope it goes well! Col and him are gonna play games I think, and I need to make some stuff to bring to the BBQ we're going to on Sunday. Need to go and shop for some veggie sausages too, and maybe some corn on the cob, mmm!

Thought I'd make some Argentinian style pasties too... Not sure yet though! Must bring veggie food! Convert people! HEhhe!

Off to Col's Mum's tomorrow too, and we can drive there now! Col has fixed the car and it's even legal now! Coool!!!

Oh, Col's Dad's family have bought a border collie puppy called Charlie!!! Can't wait to play with him!!!! Gonna be the cutest!

Oh, Sez and Perry are back from Oz on Sunday morning too, can't wait to catch up with them.

Really missing Sweden too, thinking of getting Karro into buying a flat there with me - at least I'll have something to move back to then eventually... As it's going over here, I think the same will happen (and is happening in Sweden) - property is the way to invest! Just one thing - can you make any money on renting out flats in Sweden? Are you allowed? Hm! Need to investigate! We'll need somewhere to move to one day won't we!!!

Found "Gullefjun" on YouTube, think Col almost died! I think it's soooo cute!

Scooch - Finland look out!

OK- The Brits have tonight chosen their entry for the Eurovision.... It's like an Aqua song sung by Ryanair staff.... It's very memorable indeed! Best part of the whole show was that Terry Wogan said that the French girl won instead of Schooch! Bit of a slip there, think he would have preferred the other song (like most of us). OK, now you have something to look forward to on the 12th of May! Hahha! Try not to download it on Youtube, leave it as a nice surprise!!!!! You won't regret it! "Sir, would you like something to suck on" is prob the best part of the song... Oh and "some salty nuts" is pretty funny too!!! Gulp!

Happy St Patrick's Day peeps!

In short..

Saturday\Sunday

Di's b'day party, had a curry fest at their house, yummm!!! Ewan makes the best curries!! Had a wicked time, too much to drink, but a great time!! Much needed! Stayed over and had a slapup brekkie, yum! Set us up for the day. Walked to the station, it was glorious! Gained a chili plant too! Cool! Were a bit hungover when we got home (we missed our trainstop too... tired or what!)

Monday-Friday

Glorious days, had lunch by the Thames everyday sitting in the sun! Woow! Totally amazing! Work went really quick, was a bit knackered though, we kept having cheeseparties in the evenings=nightmares, and the tube\trains have been soooo terrible this week.... I hate the bloody underground! Long gone are the days when I used to sit on the tube and just love the whole "I'm in London" thing.. Not any more! Col's been supplying me with lovely food every night too! Mmmm! He's just a bit too perfect I think!

Col met me for lunch on Friday, had a lovely time, then we were meant to go and see Hot Fuzz or eat at Camden Kitchen but we were both a bit knackered so had a chillout evening watching Red Nose Day (Comic Relief) on the telly. David Tennant was on!!!! Oooohhhh!!! Tasty! (of course Col is tastier still!). Funniest bit was probably Tony Blair in a sketch with Cathrine Tate, brilliant!!! And the "Dr Who" quote was a bit funny too!

Last ever episode of Vicar of Dibley too, very funny! And what is this about Dawn French snogging Mr Depp!?!

Been so hot this week, the hottest ever apparently! Could walk in just shortsleeved (and being me that's amazing). We've had 26'c in the office! Ugh! Not looking forward to the summer in there.....

Saturday

Viewings of the flat today, so we left the little estate agent to it, went and got some coffee. Managed to get some peat from B&Q too, so I repotted all my plants! I now have double the amount! Wohooo!Feeling a bit bad, we're meant to meet up with Mavs, Sharon and Jen tonight but my glands are so swollen and I can barely speak... Really want to see them though! And it's St Patrick's night too... Hopefully will get better soon! Maybe I should have worn my coat.....!

Back to flathunting now!

Started watching Marie Antoniette the other night.... I was sooo disappointed!!! Have been looking forward to it for so long, and there's hardly any dialogue! What's up! Will see the other half soon... Have been watching Buffy on the iPod on the way to work, it cheers me right up! I miss Buffy! (Not when it turned less great though...)

Hihihi!

Col larde sig just "gumma" och undrade om man kan ha jordgummor!!! hhahah! (jordgubbar....)!!!

saaaa sooooot!!!!

For Sale

Here's the link for our flat which is now for sale. Got people coming around today to look at it! Ugh! Can't believe the asking price!! Madness!

even got the little bug in the picture!!!

Homeless

Hello people,

det har varit ett tag sen jag senast skrev, lite full rulle pa jobbet. Nothing much going on this week, went out with work on Thursday night. Champagne all the way (they've just got their bonuses!). We were celebrating Lou and Leo's birthdays. Pretty cool evening!

Went to the theatre on Wednesday night, saw Rhona in a pretty cool play. It's called 4 Play  and is written and starred by people under 26 or something. Pretty cool.

Friday was a bit of a drama day. Turns out that the insurance man who was supposed to come around was in fact the estate agent to take photos of the flat. The landlord is selling! We're so pissed off!! Got two months to get out! They've been lying to us and stringing us along! We now loose the £160 we gave to the agent for finding this place, and the landlord has been a right sly bastard all along too! He's been coming around for letters, had surveyors here, and we've let him. He hasn't had the decency to be upfront about it to us.... Soooo.. We have to strat house hunting again! No week is normal here! And Col's starting work on Monday as well! All at once! At least we don't have to deal with the damp here anymore! But damn, packing again!!! Uggghhhh!!!!

The weather in London has been absolutely fantastic this week! Soooo warm and sunny!!! At least in between the rain!

Saturday, 3 March 2007

DOn't miss!

Total eclipse of my heart,,, well... the moon anyway!

Karro!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoppas du gillade Col's galna kort!!!

Double Birthday Bash!

Just come back from St Venage and birthday celebrations. Met up with the familia last night, were in a minor car crash (Sandie reversed into car behind us at the pretol station - BANG!!!- luckily it was just Chris and Co and nothing serious damaged!), then did some plate smashing, dancing and drinking in this Greek place. Hahha! It was funny! Got home about 2am, ooh! Had terrible stomach ache throughout the meal.. Maybe eating a whole packet of dried fruit wasn't such a great idea after all! Hmmm... But they're so tasty!

Spent today at Col's Mum's, reading interior magazines and dreaming of our own place. Had a lovely dinner and some wine, then headed home. Saw lots of daffodils and the trees are starting to blossom all over the place! Spring will surely be here soon!

Gonna see if I can do online food shopping now... Nothing in the house still!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS&KEITH!

Saturday, 24 February 2007

Saturday

Cleaning day today. Col's looked after the flat pretty well, but we seem to get dust everywhere for some reason! Why oh why!

Col's gone to play with his brothers for the day, so got the place for myself! I'm not "required" until 7pm so I've got the whole day to myself! If only I'd known a few hours ago, and I could have gone to the West End. Am in desperate need of just about everything! Maybe I should go food shopping actually, we've got nothing in the fridge! I'm starving, not had anything since brekkie, as there isn't anything edible in this place! Hm! Maybe I should pop out now then!!!

Been scanning Ebay for bargains, but nada! Need to get hold of a sofa bed! Maybe it'll have to be an Ikea jobbie!

Work has been pretty cool this week, quite enjoyable indeed! Really pleased! I thought there'd be a load of old farts working there, but most people are around 30-40! Most of them are really nice too! Especially the girls I'm sitting with and the PA is a really wicked girl. Everyone received there bonus this week and were happy! Most of them went to lunch for 3 hours on Friday and I think they had a couple of glasses of wine! We never had this at the NHS! Bonus, what's that?!? Next year it'll be my turn too! Wohhhoooo!

Oh, got some great news! Got paid yesterday, for both my last temping job and from my new job! Wohoo! Rich for a while! BUT, we have got 2 bills to pay and the rent.... It'll all go towards that.... and the bills will go over what I have earnt! Oh, that's life... In a few months time we should be OK. Sounds like Col's got another job lined up now (don't wanna jinx it so will leave it at that).

OK, food shopping it is!!

Wohoooo!!!

Received a little surprise in the post today! I kind of guessed what it was as we opened it...! It was an invite to Jenny & Freddie's wedding!!!!

Cooooool!!!!! It's on the 26 of August, and we'll be there! Gonna be soooooo cooool!!!!! We'll spend my birthday in Copenhagen I think and then head home for the wedding! Can't wait!!!

Wednesday, 21 February 2007

I think I know...

where I wanna go for my birthday - MOROCCO!!! How hot will it be there in August though?!?

Workie

Just to let you know I'm still alive and kicking! Work hasn't killed me yet!

Got taken out for lunch on my first day by the girlies, so sweet of them!

Col's been looking after me soooo well! Breakfast and packed lunch made everyday : ) Dinner served as I get home! Tasty stuff too! I'm so happy to see him every night too, not used to the whole day spent without him!

No more computer now - need to chill out, oh, think it's time for afters - cheese and biscuits - oooh! my fav!!!!

Sunday, 18 February 2007

Rubik

..how does it work really?? When I was a kid I took off the stickers, but it doesn't work on this one...

Happy Chinese New Year!

Spent the morning around Trafalgar's and Chinatown - lovely! So many people!!! Cool! Saw the parade, ate some noodles, had a nice little scrumble with hundreds of people! Oh, all great of course!

Gonna chill out for the rest of the day, proper work tomorrow!!! Hiihi! Should be cool! I'll let you know how it feels to be a sellout tomorrow!

Oh, we watched Persuit of Happyness last night- utter rubbish! Don't waste any money on it! Very irritating film..

Saturday, 17 February 2007

Eurovision!

Oh oh oh!!!! Just read about Eurovision! I can watch the Swedish shows in a pub!! It's supposedly a Swedish pub (Karro, you know the one, it has a flag in it, otherwise completely English!) but hey! I'll definately check out the final!!! Hhahahah!

Sunny Saturday!

Took the tube to Camden and trekked up Primrose Hill today, and was it nice or what??! Wow! What a day! Sunbathing! So warm! Lovely lovely! People were even in their t-shirts! Cool!

Had a coffee in Bean&Cup as well (2nd day on the trot - we met Sez there yesterday lunchtime too!) Nice one!

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year (year of the Pig I think) - lots of celebrations and stuff which we'll be checking out! Hoping to get to Swedish Church and stuff myself with SEMLA too, I'm just rubbish at making them, so will hope to find some there! Have checked out a couple of other Nordic bars, maybe they'll have them... I NEED SEMLA!! You lucky buggers at home!

Watched The Departed last night, wow, what a cool film! What a twister! Never know what's gonna happen! Think I wanna watch it again though, couldn't really understand all the cop-talk! Some dodgy accents here and there too! We were supposed to catch Hot Fuzz tonight, but will save it for another night, really looking forward to it though!!! Ooohhh!!!!

Thursday, 15 February 2007

Valentine's

Ah, got surprised yesterday! Col treated me to brekkie, and roses and lovely Guylian chocolate! Mmm! So lovely! Didn't expect it at all! Smoothie him! I got him something for the iPod, oh joy! : ) When I got home from work, candles were already lit, table set and dinner cooked : ) Very romantic indeed! I got a lovely bottle of red wine from New Zealand winegrowers as a little leaving gift (getting used to getting good pressies from my temp jobs! This was the best though!) Early to bed : ) Bliss!

My temping days are behind me now - had a really cool time at NZ House, that's the kind of job I'd like. I was reasearching places in Newcastle and around (like hotels and restaurants) to sort out their database and invite people to winetasting events! Very cool : ) BUT, I've signed  my contract and start with the gaspeople on Monday! Oh! Little scared now! And excited! Will be so nice! Some normality and that in my life... God, how boring really eh?! Nah, we all have to do it I suppose! We've just been really really lucky the last two years!

Found out about a beauty school who does fab facials and all that, cheap cheap! If you want the number let me know and I'll forward the details! Facial is £15, eyelash tinting £2.50, cool stuff!

Chilling out today, might go and bake some muffins : ) Gonna search the snet for some bargains too!

Sooo! We managed to see a few people - best of all was.... Jessica Stevenson!!! She's the coolest! I think it's on the same level as meeting Willow! We also saw Timothy Dalton, that Natasha girl, that Thandie Newton, the blonde guy from Tourchwood (and Life on Mars), some Kevin guy, someone from Mighty Boosh (Noel somebody)...! Ems, where were you?!? We don't know who's who!!! We missed Simon Pegg and co as someone was an hour late meeting me after work!!! I won't say who..!

Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow

Wow! Another Snowy Day! And this time it was more than a few flakes! Like 10cm probably!!!! Coool! Check the new pics!

Col got so excited! We went out and built a couple of snowmen, and guess what?!?! Our crazy lady downstairs opened her window and asked us if we could build them somewhere else! WHAT?? Well, the birds... WHAT?! IT'S JUST SNOW! THE BIRDS WON'T MIND! NOT EVERYTHING IN THIS LIFE HA TO REVOLVE AROUND THE BIRDS!!! Oh my God! She slammed the window shut and I thought she might come out and kick them down!! She's a complete mentalist!!!

Set off an email today to the company who offered me that job. I've decided it's a pretty cool job, and if they offer me some more pennies I'll go for it :) Just have to wait and see a the boss is in India...! Come on, it's 25 days holiday! And a bonus! And it's opposite Tate Modern! I'm still stressing about it though, just can't decide what I really really want!

Got myself a tempjob at New Zealand House in Haymarket for next week, it's so cool! It's for the winegrowing society! Cool! Maybe this weekend I'll have to do some research then! I know the Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc is particulary good! Mmm! Wine!

We watched Casino Royale earlier today (that's what snowy days are about) - it's not that good. I thought it was a little slow. But it made the day very cosy and chilled out! Oh, I think it's time for another cuppa! xxx

Aren't they cute?!

So I got the job

...and will decline.. They only offered me 17K, and I ready decided I wouldn't go lower than 18K. I mean, I get much more from temping but ofcourse, no paid holiday, not 25 days anyway! And with the bonus it might take me up to 19-20, but they only hand that out if business is good and in Feb... So it's a gamble really. So, the hunt goes on! I think I'm doing the right thing though! The whole job thing scared me a bit though, the commitment!!! argh! Need to get used to the idea!

Have just read Virre's traveldiary - she's just jumped off the Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand... This is a thing I need to do too!! Now!

To sell my soul or not?

can I - the environmentalist that I kind of am - work for a gas cooperation?

Saturday, 3 February 2007

Friends across the globe!

OK - it's officially spring here in London (according to me anyway!) so..... why don't you come and visit?!?! I'll promise to buy a sofa bed, I just need to get some bookings for it first!!!

Come Ooooooon!!!!

Saturday morning

Ohhhh, what a beautiful day!!!! Sunny and gorgeous! Got up early and have had a lovely morning. At last we had a lie in as well! Ah! I hate getting up early for work! But it's nice in a way I suppose. Have had a pretty cool week at work. The work itself has been a bit dull, but I've enjoyed meeting some new people, Lucy, Lorna, Janice and Collette. The office was a bit quiet at first but we were move chatty at the end of the week! They're all so sweet. It's been great working in Green Park/Piccadilly too. At lunch times I've been trotting down Bond Street (I even braved it and entered some of the designer shops like Mulberry for example!!!). Sat in the sunshire in St James's Square yesterday and just enjoyed myself! You can even walk to Oxford St in your lunch hour (only I had 30 mins, that was all) - great for shopping!

Been knackered every night. Did work late both Wednesday and Thursday (got paid hourly so had to do all the extra hours I could!). Col's been looking after me soooo well though! Made me brekkie, packed lunched and cooked me dinner! He's so sweet! The flat is looking very tidy too! Haven't had to wash up once!!!! Oh!!!!

Great news-we've finally got broadband as well! Wohoo!!! This means we'll prob be on the net all the time now! Col's signed in on msn, so message him if you want me!!!

Off to Great Ashby today, then Walkern tomorrow. Chirstmas dinner tonight, and Sam's birthday tomorrow :) Will be nice to be out in the country! It's such a beautiful day! xxx

This will make you crack if you...

Friday, 26 January 2007

Just wondering..

.. what's David Tennant up to at the moment?

It’s time for me to do the Happy Dance as well ‘cos….

I’ve got a job for next week! Wohooo! I’ve had my eye on this job for a while and am really pleased! It’s that Debbie who’s pulled through yet again : ) I’m gonna be working for a children’s charity near Green Park all week, and maybe longer! I’ve also chatted to some different people today about various jobs, so, finally – the draught is over!! I hope! And for Col too as you might know – he’s landed himself a brilliant job (with the money he earns I hardly need to work!!) in a place called Colindale – cool eh?! So pleased! Don’t know when he’ll start, but will hopefully be next week J We’ll soon be able to go places and treat ourselves!!!

Bought myself a nice new coat after my interview on Tuesday. It was in the sale in Debenhams, got it for £25 instead of £80! Oh, I like a bargain! It’s very 60ish and looks pretty cute. Just needed something smart for work and stuff. The interview the other day went really well by the way. The company is rather weird though – they’re all analysts and consultants for gas and liquid natural gas matters… Soooo… It’ll be like selling my little green soul to the devil in a way if I worked there… But they do give you 16% bonus once a year (off your  salary.. not bad, oh, and 25 days holiday! Oh! See, the devil is tempting me…)

Went to see Rocky Balboa on Thursday night with Matty. Now, Matty is a Rocky freak, and Col dragged me along too for the occasion – and to tell you the truth I really enjoyed myself! I laughed my head off most of the time! Even the people in the cinema were funny! Screaming and cheering away! Hahaha! I got a little carried away too  J It reminded me of cinema in Asia, people care about what they’re watching!

Had Sez around for a little while today too, always so nice to hang out. Makes us feel a bit more in touch with the world!

Best news left ‘til last – KARRO HAS A BRAND NEW CAR!!!! It’s a proper girlie girlie coooool car!!! It’s called something like.. mmm… will find out…! It’s dark grey and the roof comes down J Van’t wait to borrow it!!! Hehehe!

Oh, and let me not forget – WE HAVE HAD SNOW!!!! For one day at least, well, a couple of hours! And it was soooo pretty!!!! Could never live anywhere where you don’t have snow once in a while…

Week gone by

Not been into blogging for a while, but here’s the low down on last week:

Tuesday night: Sez came round, had a really cool night chatting away

Wednesday: Um, don’t remember… Watched BB, now that Jade is a nasty bully… Poor Shilpa, she’s being bullied for being pretty and sophisticated, hm. Jade= council estate slag, Shilpa= Bollywood beauty

Thursday: Stormy or what!?! Worst storm in 17 years or something! We did pop out for a little while and almost for a tree branch on us!!! Crossing the road was hard, thought we might lift off any time!!! So, yeah, a bit windy then : ) Matty come around in the evening, we played Cluedo and drank tea.

Friday: Col was knackered. Had Sharon and Trev come up and headed to Camden for a spot of dinner at Wagamama. Yum!!! Oh, I love that place!! Oyster is great btw, only cost us £2 return! Cool! I think it’s after 7.30pm or so though… Went back to Great Ashby with the in laws.

Saturday: Watched BB in bed, yeay, Jade got kicked out – she got to see footage from Indian television, Gordon Brown defending the British… Her racist remarks have caused outrage here as well as in India…

Went shopping for a little while, I bought some cooking stuff and a top for work (hehe). Bargain of the day was a pair of knee high boots for £12.50!!! Cool! Finally I found something in the sale! They are looovely! Not really what I needed, but, hey, the things you don’t need are normally the best! Sharon took us to Van Hage as well, which is a garden centre. Wanted to get a fruit tree for Sandie, but it’s the wrong time of year really! Soooo, we ended up with a Camellia and it’s gorgeous!!!! So pleased! Went back to Sharon’s and got some lovely dinner.

Party in the evening, loads of people! Loads of fun too! Sam played with his band – damn he can drum! He’s really really good! I mean he’s not even 12 and has mastered a lot of tricky rhythms! He’s destined for greatness me thinks! Another Walkern band played in the evening too, and lots of different people joined in! Cool! Think we danced away most of the night! Left about 2ish, were gonna walk home, got as far as the end of the village and then called a cab! Too cold!!! Brrrrr!

Sunday: Up late, couldn’t sleep in the morning though. So tired. Had some brekkie about 2, then not up to much. Keith came around, Sharon and him sorted out some stuff on the puter, Trev was busy D.I.Y–ing, Col was on the puter too, I watched something about Leo’s new film ( the one set in Africa – looks really great!) and was a bit bored. Too tired to read, and just wanted to get home. When I’m tired I just wanna be home! Col was moaning at me on the train which maybe I deserved, not sure! Just had some dinner now, and cheese and crackers party! Mmm! Bed now… Must get energy for jobhunting tomorrow… Got phone bill today too…. £110 – yikes! Most of it for the dial up… We need broadband!!!

Might snow on Tuesday apparently! It’s really turned cold, but it should be like this – I mean it is January after all!

HAPPY 50TH SANDIE!

New Week....

So, I did a wee bit of work last week, not so much this week so far anyway! Well, I did cook and clean : ) like a good little housewife that I am. Gulp!! No, don't worry! We're not quite there yet!!

Had a really wicked weekend. It was the Russian New Year this weekend, with big celebrations in Trafalgar's Square, cool! Russian food and Russian popstars!!! Can't go wrong really!!! Hehehe! Got to see 'Red Ken' too, and he did sing on a Blur song once upon a time, so pretty cool really! And Russians! Everywhere!! Really really cool!!! My Russian came flying back, like "Spaziba" and all that kind of thing! Especially "A chom wvie gavaritje" (phonetical there!) Remember Ems??! Heheh! Did a little bit of shopping afterwards, well, tried anyhow... I need some shirts for work (when I get it), seem to have 2 in total... Have a feeling I might have a bag of clothes at Sharon's...!

Sunday was mostly spent in bed and then watching films. We did go for a lovely walk as the sun poked out for a while. So warm and gorgeous out! Oh! Blossom on the trees

Today has been jobhunting day again. Oh, we're loving it soooo much!! Got motivated and we're looking forward to going back to work! Well, who am I kidding??! I wanna head off and travel again but it's not possible right now! Ah! It's Sandie's 50th on Saturday (Col's stepmum) and just don't want people asking me what I'm doing, don't feel proud being unemployed! I reckon I'll just tell them I'm loaded and choose not to work? I'm a lady who "does lunch".... Yeah, that'll do!!! Heheh! Should be a pretty cool party though as there's like a band thing happening! Even little Sam is playing! Walkern is full of bands apparently and they all think they're the next best thing, not heard any of them so will be interesting to see if it's a Oasis thing (all talk and no action). One of the guys from Spandau Ballet lives in the village too, so maybe there'll be some true talent! Heheh! And little Sam is gonna play, never heard him actually play with anyone before so will be cooool!!!!

Sez is coming over tomorrow, will be cool to see her! Been too long yet again!

Gonna watch some shitty telly now, it's BB (bloody again) and just wanna see how much of an idiot Jade and the others can make of themselves... Or maybe we can watch an episode of This Life instead! Yeayyyyyy!

Oh, Matty is "Employee of the Month" - how cool is that?!?! Well done!

Friday, 12 January 2007

Friday - work - what?!?!

Well, well, well!!! Here's the surprise! I've actually been to work today!!! £11 an hour! Wohoo! Well, it was the most boring day I've had for about 10 years! What?! Not very inspiring! I thought today would ease me back into working life, more like turn the other way and run for your life!!! Why do we do it??! I need to find a niiiice job! Compared to my old job this was soooo boring! I was just in for today, just one guy was in for work... It's a property company and they're all absolutely loaded! Like disguistingly! I'd rather be back at the hotel and meet some nice people, even the hospital, rather than shuffle paper for rich b*stards! Well, now, they all seemed really sweet (spoke to most of them on the phone), but I need more people around me! TO sociable to be locked in an office! What will I do??! Any ideas people?!?!

My lovely boyfriend has made me dinner, so best be off! Will continue my rant later!

Wednesday

OK, another midweek...! Been almost busy this week! Monday was shopping day. We only had a few crackers left in the house, and decided we need more to live! Took the bus to Southgate for some shopping, bloody heavy to carry home I say! But bliss, we can cook again, and eat!

Yesterday was rather full on, I had two interviews:

First one was for an agency around the corner from Oxford Circus. I'm applying for a job as a Sec/Admin for a property company in Bond Street. Had to do loads of tests again. This time typing, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and spelling. Oh joy! Did pretty well on all of them though, think Excel was the hardest with about 75% . My typing seems a bit slow though, only 40wpm, thought I was quicker than that.I thought I was like a speed demon! Ah! Need to write more I suppose... Had a long chat with the lady there as well, she's really nice. She said she needs people for a children's charity as well, that would probably suit me better than a property company, but I just have to go for everything and anything at the moment!

Did sort out an interview for myself at Breakthrough Breastcancer though and my second interview was with them. I was a bit knackered after my two hour testing session, and maybe not completely prepared for the stupid questions you're asked in a formal interview...like... what would you do if the phone rang and you were doing something else....that kind of thing.... Don't really know how I did... Might have come on a bit strong about being a recycling, cycling, vegetarian health freak power girl... Or something like that! Will find out on Thursday! The ladies who interviewed me were lovely, and the office seemed pretty cool (the girl I'm replacing is called Jess, so I mean, that makes things so much easier for people doesn't it??! Must be to my advantage?!!) - best part being they get 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 3 days between Christmas and NY! Woohooooo! Now that's what I call a perk!

Applied for a few more jobs today, went out for a little while - Col had his hair cut! Looks lovely! Not short, just shorter! Hasn't been cut since our summer in Sweden so about time! Got a before and after picture, might try to stick them on here! Whilst he was having it cut, the girl blow dried it a little and he was the splitting image of Tim Burton! Heheh! Mad! If only I'd had my camera! Very funny!! Col might have been a little traumatized! Got a bargain too, half price as I "introduced" him to the salon. Also means I'll get £10 discount next time! Better than a poke in the eye :)

Gonna do some reading now - have actually forced myself to read The God of Small Things again, and it's not too bad. Just hard work the first 75 pages or so... Will let you know how it goes...

Trying to plan what to do for my birthday this year (you only turn 24 once) - was thinking Moscow but it's so expensive to get there! Maybe St Petersburgh, Iceland, Berlin, Munich... New York.... Or drive the van to the Lake District, that would work too : ) Just depends on what we can afford... Plan B, stay in bed with duvet over my head! Col had better be there too : )

Sunday, 7 January 2007

Sunday

Had a lovely day today. Stayed around Col's Dad's for the evening - Col was sorting out Sam's World of Warcraft. Wohoo!

Stayed the night around Col's Mum's, and today we have had lots of food! Yum!!! Think this is the last day of indulgence from Christmas! That half a stone has gone up now I think!

Ems, I'm not weird, check out Dr Who and you'll see what I mean!!! Heheheh!

Off home in a minute, and I think we might be getting a lift, wohooo!!

oh, ps, hm, col's got a new graphics card, wohoo!

Saturday, 6 January 2007

One more...

Friday night and Saturday

Got some food sorted from Waitrose. We just have nothing in the house! Need to get to a shop sometime soon. Just a case of having to walk to one and grab the bus back... Need to get our van back on the road...

Watched something called Friday Night Project or something and it had David Tennant as the host... I must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for him... So thought I'd put a little picture up..... Mmm, nice isn't he? Does anyone know if he's gay or not?!?

We're over at Col's Dad's right now, just had some lovely pumpkin soup and homemade banana cake, mmm! Gonna watch some kind of film now I think....

Got problem with my kidney again, the other one this time... Hurts like hell... It's one thing after another with me isn't it...

Friday, 5 January 2007

Job hunting

Been a very busy day today. Went to an agency and signed up. Chatted to them yesterday and they seem ok.

Had to fill out about a million pages, do spelling tests and understanding of words, typing test and interview. I was there for 2 hours!!! Poor Col, I told him I'd only be 30mins-1 hour!

Afterwards we went to Borders and had biiig cooffes, yum! And cake too, I mean, come on! Then we did a little bit of shopping. I got a pair of work trousers and a pair of jeans from Bershka (in the sale!). Also, Col managed to get a pair of jeans too! He hasn't got a single pair without holes! Not bad!

Gonna watch something cool now, not sure what though!

Oh, be prepare - MIDSUMMER IS GONNA BE THE BESTEST EVER!!! Everyone's invited - Johan and Lisa's house I hope! 22 of June, put it in your diary!!!! So happy, Remke and Marloes are coming!!!!!

Jul Jul!

Lowdown on the Christmas break in Sweden:

Saturday 23rd

Happy Birthday Sharon!

Up at 3am, no sleep for me… Cab arrived at 4am. Still foggy as anything… Luckily Stansted wasn’t as affected as the other airports… … Got to Stansted by 4.45am. Arrived in Copenhagen 20 minutes late… Veeery close to missing our train to Kalmar… Too close for comfort but we made it! Got picked up by Karro, Ems and Daniel, headed straight for Kullzenska cafĂ©. (Ankis missed her train from Stockholm so couldn’t make it).Yummy coffee and cakes! Mmm! On the way there Col lost just about all the wheels on the suitcase. So funny, had this guy running behind us saying “your wheels! Excuse me!!!” (first time in Swedish and when the next wheel fell he swapped to English and laughed a lot! So did we! Madness!) Bumped into my old classmate Mattias too, haven’t seen him for yonks! This is what I love about being at home for Christmas! Then home for food and Lussekatter (baking baking!). Slept all three in Karro’s bed! Luckily it’s big enough!

Christmas Eve

No snow!!! So sad! Not that Christmasy… Decorated the tree. Dad had bought a dodgy one so we had to do our best!It turned out pretty good in the end! Went to church, sang some songs, then home for cooking. Joakim popped by, nice to see him. Watched Kalle Anka och hans Vanner firar Jul (Col might understand us Swedes a wee bit more now..) Mum and Stig arrived at 5, had lovely meal (almost forgot the ham!heheh!). Got so stuffed, mmmm! Johan was Santa this year, got lots of lovely pressies, biggest surprise was Trolltyg I tomteskogen from Emsen, how she manages to get hold of these unobtainable films I do not know! Lisa arrived in the evening, everyone seemed tired by then!

Thanks for all my lovely presents people!

Christmas Day

No pressies today for Colly, poor thing! Luckily there were loads of leftovers to distract him J Went for a lovely walk down to the sea, the weather was gorgeous, cold but sooo sunny! Beautiful! In the afternoon we went to see Johan and Lisa’s new house with Dad. Wow! It’s a cool house! Massive! Lots of work to be done, but that’s part of the process isn’t it?! Waited to go to a party in the evening, but Emsen was soooo poorly so we skipped it.

Boxing Day

Shopping all day with Karro! Bought lots of sweets and ate them all! Pick and mix Sweden style is the best!

Wednesday 27th

Fika with Emsen and Ankis (before she took off to London). Really nice time, nice to hang out with the lassies. Wandered the town with Emsen, then got take away from Ming, headed to Ems house, watched the last episode of Firefly, then Serenity the film, followed by Rocky Horror Picture show! Coooool!!! Daniel joined us too. Headed to Karro’s afterwards with some food, she’s ill and doesn’t make herself food at the best of times! Icy on the roads when we drove home.

Thursday 28th

Freezing!!! Frosty everywhere! Pretty! Met up with Karro and went to Ikea for some coffee (and shopping for Karro) and moooore cakes!

Friday 29th

Went to see Johan and Lisa for a while at the house, we brought coffee and cakes which was much appreciated. Headed on to Jenny’s after that. Got to meet little Isaak this time too! Must be the most smiley baby I’ve ever seen! He just smiled and smiled and smiled! And poked his tongue out! Ebba was so cute too! Little shy but so grown up! Lovely to see Jenny and Fredrik too of course! They’ve finished the main bathroom now – woooooow! So nice! I want one of those baths too! Had nice nosh and chats then time to head home again. Johan and Lisa paid us a visit in the evening, more chatting, think we’re loosing our voices! Matty arrived in Sweden in the evening, just to spend the night at the airport J

Saturday 30th

Went into town around lunchtime, had coffee (& cake) with Virre and Jannica. Karro came too! Glad we got a chance to catch up with them as V is off to New Zealand at the end of next month! I’m so jealous! I wanna go toooooooo! Love that place! Had a quick walk around town too, I picked up some cups (good for Glogg and coffe) from Werner&Werner, bought some food too. Then it was time to collect Matty from the station! Headed off to Karro’s for some food, then home for fika with Dad. Took it easy in the evening as Matty was shattered from no sleep! I tried to make a pie for the New Year’s Eve Posh Dinner we had been invited to, but managed to drop it when it was almost done! Did I loose it or what! I was mad like hell! Poor Col and Matty! Played a bit of TP in Swedish too, the lads did well! Funny!

New Year’s Eve

Up early. We were gonna go for a walk but it was raining outside. Drove to Sandby, then down to the coast where we did get out and walked a little. Damn it was cold and windy! Matty got soaked whilst trying to wade through a small lake! He’s mad! Hahhah! We laughed a lot though! Dad made us some lunch, then we headed to Johan’s. He gave us a lift to town, where we met up with Karro, Virre, Jannica, Louise and Annelie and went down to the castle to watch the firework display! It was actually really great! I don’t normally like that kind of thing that much but it was cool! Drank a bit of Glogg supplied by the Hovenas’s, yum yum! Then home to get changed! I had to borrow clothes from Karro! Headed off to Louise’s, had loooovely food and drink! The menu was

Crayfish tail soup / Asparagus soup

File of Beef in Red wine sauce with Potato Gratin

Roccola/Sundried tomato and Cheese pie

Cheesecake with raspberries and blueberries (with Ginger snaps, yum!)

Trifle (bit of a letdown, will learn how to make this properly for next time!)

Finished off with a glass of Baileys

Mmmm! Got soooo stuffed!

Had lots of drinks then headed off to Karro’s for Sparkling wine at Midnight and some fireworks by Mikael. Had the best toasting session ever, think Col, Matty and myself toasted every living thing and all the foods of the world! (Especially Marmite I think!) Headed into town and Ernesto’s. Had a pretty cool time! Lots of dancing until my feet were so sore that we had to go home! Luckily Johan and Lisa were on their way too and picked us up from the library! Col and Matty had to carry me there though! Poor poor feet… Damn those shoes! But they’re pretty… Ohhh… Sat and chatted for a few hours then bed!

New Year’s Day

Oooohhhhh…. My poor head…. Up at 8, woke Karro up as we still had stuff at her place. Picked them up on the way to the station. Bless the Numo’s for taking us J Just made the train in time. Had a nice trip to Copenhagen, just chilled out. Had the best hangover cure at the airport – Danish pastries and tea! What a treat! Repacked the bags, turned out we had lots of alcohol in one bag that Karro gave us! Ooops! Managed to fit it all in. Got the flight alright, bit of a shaky start, were 20 minutes early in London. Took us 3 hours from Stansted and home…. Arrrggh! Soooo tired by then! When I rang home Dad and Karro said there had been a proper storm in southern Sweden and Denmark… We were lucky to make it home! Watched a bit of Monty Python, had some pasta, then collapsed in bed. Nice to sleep in our flat again!

Tuesday 2nd

Chill out day! Did some food shopping, nothing much else! Watched This Life 10 years on… Wow!!! Sooo cool to see the old gang again! They were all the same, just a little older and a little more bitter! Bit weird! There was a short interview afterwards and they said the next one will be when they’re in their 70s!! Heheh!

I had a call about a job, have got an interview on Tuesday! Cool!

Wednesday 3rd

Happy Birthday Ebba and Henni!

Lots of sorting out today, the house seem in a bit more of an order now! Oh, Pepe called!!! Great to chat to him! It’s been to long!!

Chatted to Emsen too, such a shame we didn’t get to hang out a bit more in Sweden, but she might be coming to London in the spring! Wooohooo!

2007

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Hope you all had a cool night and a good start to the New Year! We sure did! Will give more of an account to everything we got up to in Sweden tomorrow, bit late now and a bit sleepy!

Ta ta for now!
