Ouch!
I have got prickly heat in my kna vack (crease of knee). What works!!! Eurax seem to be doing the trick but don't wanna waste it all! Need it for my bites! See, it's all heaven here!
Some Interesting Facts:
You won't believe this! My luggage = 5.5kg! That's it!!! I have never travelled so light in my life (normally my hand luggage is 10-12kg's on its own!!) Must have left something behind?? How will I live 6 months like this?!??! Oh, suppose I can shop...!! Oh yes!!!
Green Thai Curry is 10 times stronger than Red...
Col got sunburnt sitting in the shade...
Sweden won 7 golds in the end, most importantly we won gold in ice hockey (beat Finland) - wohoo!!!
A question:
Britain got silver in something - what was it?? We need to know!
Back from The Beach
So we have returned to Bangkok.
Spent a lovely 5 days chilling out, swimming in the lovely sea, eating and drinking. Paradise! Palm trees swaying in the wind..... Warm breeze from the sea..... Cold cold beer.... Oh, sorry! Just dreaming back!
Met some weird locals and weirder westerners... What's with having a Thai girl on your arm when you're fat and ugly?? Uh, all of them got one it seemed....
Trip down to Koh Samet was rather eventful. After several hours stuck in traffic leaving Bangkok, then some more hours in the bus (was forced to watch Male Gigalo or whatever it's called - so not funny), then trapped on the back of a pick up truck (lucky we were so many or else we would have flown off!) driving like a maniac on motorway. After that it was easy sailing (motor boat). It was all worth it though.
Just love the way it's so relaxed in the evenings too. They have flims on in the bars so we watched a few. Felt a bit spaced in the evenings though, as a bit tired from a day of swimming and chilling, too much sun maybe. They had these lovely seats and restaurants (candle lit of course) right on the beach and it was just so romantic!!!
Will add some photos hopefully tomorrow! (no, not that kind!)

Day 1- Bangkok 22 February 2549 (Thai year..?)
Oh yes!!! So we have arrived indeed!
Hot hot hot, yummy food, hot hot hot, amazing buildings, hot hot hot, cool people, hot hot hot!!!
Our flight felt like 2 weeks, but we've not really had any jet lag as we went to be a few hours after we arrived, which was lovely. found a cool hostel 3 mins away from koh san road, nice, clean and quiet. it'll be our base whenever in bangkok me thinks! not bad for 350 baht per night (5 quid for both of us).
Went to the Royal Palace today, damn they know how to make beautiful temples here! saw the emarald buddha in there, and it was sooo sparkly! then we wandered to see the reclining buddha, 15m heigh and 45 meters long. will have to get some pics in here for you! All this for less than 60p, for both of us.
Found a lovely little cafe this morning, Col had noodles and I had a pancake w fresh fruit. Slept through lunch (OK, so we're over the jet lag but after walking around all the temples we needed to lay on the bed under the fan for a while and happened to fall asleep! It's too hot!!!) Had a lovely dinner too, I had veg + noodles, the noodles tasted like pancake!!! Does everything taste like pancakes?? I need to investigate! Had the nicest fruit smoothie too, fresh mango..MMMmmmmm! Think I might have died and gone to heaven!!!!
Booked the bus and boat for an island retreat for the next few days - Koh Samet, it's just 4 hours south of Bangkok and we just feel like chilling out (melting away??!) on the beach for a few days!! Do some snorkelling and that jazz! Move as little as possible and eat everything that comes our way!!! Nothing wrong with that right?
Slipping off the keyboard so time to stop I think! Oh, did I tell you it's SO HOT here!!!??!

We're off!!!! See you soon!!!! We're very excited now!!!!!!
Just read the weather report, 36'c in Bangkok (daytime) and 26'c at night!!! No more coats, no more shoes, get the sunnies and flip flops out!!! Oh yessssssss!!!!!
Love you all, will email as soon as we've settled in! Will try to keep the blog up to date too!
Kisses

Sunday night
Been a bit of a hectic day, meeting and greeting and lots of tea. Completely crackered now! Spent many hours on the phone too, so my voice now feels a bit weird. So lovely to catch up with everyone at home. Even spoke to Ems, just been too long...
Just finished packing quickly, after having to clean my bag several times (cat wee is just no fun!)
Had a lovely stew for dinner and just had some Toast with Marmite (mmm, my favourite). Made pancakes for brekkie, mmm, just stocking up on lots of English food! Full belly!
Off to bed now! See if we can sleep! Should be getting a little nervous by now, but nothing yet!!!
Qatar, I mean Thailand here we come!

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!
Just watched Corpse Bride again with Sharon and Soph. It's such a cool film, better second time round I think!
Was flicking though Lonely Planet too, just can't decide where to go for our chill out session before we really start travelling. A few days in Bangkok, then need some R&R on a nice little beach. Think it might be Koh Samet, it has been recommended by a few friends, but will decide nearer the time! Ohhh! Gonna be so cool! Not long now!! Saw Sez and Perry today for mucho coffee and chat, really nice pub all to ourselves! Got the mossie net too, will come in handy cos they do love to bite me! Mossies that is..
Need sleep now, my head throbs. Will just dream of a paradise beach....Mmmmm.... Not long now...!
(Oh, Sweden took another medal today, just lost count now!)
Tickets!
After yesterdays cockup we've finally received our tickets! Shame we missed out on lunch with Sez, but we're off to see her in a minute so it kind of worked out ok!
Col's feeling a little under the weather today, I'm still the same, Nick and Soph are both really ill and Sharon still has her tickly cough from Egypt. The whole house seem to be coughing away! Hopefully the sunshine will cure us though! Or our germs will set off an epedemic in Asia!
Gonna head to Winchmore Hill now for pub lunch.

Lovebug back on Ebay
Just got the Lovebug back on Ebay, it's looking even better than ever!
Check it out!
Benington Lordship Gardens
We had an outing yesterday with Col's Dad & Co, went and saw lots of snowdrops around an old Norman Keep. Absolutely gorgeous! The sun came out and it was just perfect!
Sez, if you come to Walkern/St Venage again we'll take you here, so nice!
Had dinner with Sharon & Trev in the evening, Keith came around too. We watched Robin Hood, what a classic! I dozed on the sofa, got a cold coming and my head hurts. Typical!

oh, another medal...
(yep, we took a silver medal today)
AND, it's 5.30 and not dark outside!!! Yeah!!! See, there's still hope for you guys who are stuck in England!
Best Friend in the World!
Flights booked
Have booked flights now! We're off on Monday night! Wohoo!!!
Got a really good deal from Flight Centre, which worked out cheaper than John's good offer in the end.
Off to see Sam now!

Wednesday (last one in the UK) (Wohoo!!)
Ah,
Another day closer to HOLIDAY!!! Yeah! Found some cheap flights so will book in the morning. Looks like we'll be heading off on Sunday and back on the 3rd of August. Wohooo!! So exciting!! We're pretty chilled out about it, anything we miss out here, we'll pick up in Bangkok. Not nervous at all, just know everything will go perfectly! Getting excited though, oh yes!
Went to see the Brent family today, had 'The Last Supper' with them. Sam got his computer ordered too, so should arrive in a few days for him. His replacement for Col??!! Hehe!
Two things of interest happened today:
1) When we were in town we actually met a nice Stevenegite. He works in Barclays and is normal! What a surprise! There's still hope!
2) Sweden thrashed Great Britain in todays Curling semi final, oh yes! (What a boring 'sport' curling is to watch, when can we go and try it out though?!?!)
Todays funny:
The Swedish ladies curling team are in a Rock Video!!! And it's the funniest thing I've seen in a loooong time! Will try to find and put a link in for you all as soon as I possibly can!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!!! x 2 !!!!!!!!!
Olympics are great!
We've taken two gold medals today! Oh yeah, aha!! AND best part is we're set to win the curling too (hopefully!) and at the same time steal the only medal the UK stands a chance of winning! HAHAHA!
It's great to be cocky sometimes eh?!? (and if we don't win, well, curling is hardly a sport eh??!)
Valentine's!
Had some shitty news...That arsehole who attacked us at the bus stop before Christmas probably won't pay Col his compensation. He had until the end of January to pay, the court sent out a reminder and he's only got a few days to pay up. Next step will be bailiffs or to arrest him again. God damn... So annoying... Oh, he really must regret what he did eh? He might not even be in the country as he's in the army. Fantastic.
On the other hand Col did get all the bond back from Angus and Lisa which was really nice of them. They didn't charge us for phone or heating! Very nice peeps! But we did look after the place pretty well!
Still not sure what's happening with our flight. Col will call Di tonight. Will sort something out with Flight Centre otherwise! Least of our worries right now I suppose.
Anyway! Let us all have a cool Valentine's!

Angus & Lisa's
Just got in from Angus & Lisa's - "our" Old House!!!
Very strange to go back, we felt like using our key and saying 'Honey I'm Home', but that's just not right! Had another great meal, and lots of red wine. That whole part that I wasn't gonna drink again was kind of forgotten. Really nice to see the Kiwis again, they're just so lovely! And Little Miss Kitty too! She's so sweet! Looking forward to tomorrow, should be a pretty cool day. Might not get time to blog..!

Cleaning day
Been busy cleaning and packing up our stuff today. Trying to figure out what to do about our van too. Probably put it up on Ebay again.
Got a lovely little Valentine's card today, even had a picture of Sandwich on it (the cutest little kitten!).
My sweet little Col. Gonna have a chill out day tomorrow together, got the plumber coming though, just hope he'll be quick!

Sunday Sunday
Oh,
so this is what happen yesterday:
WE DIDN'T SELL THE LOVE BUG
What's that all about? It's the loveliest van ever and only reached £2500, oh no...Now we have to either
1) Stay in the country until we sell it or
2) Get one of the rellies to flog it for us (most likely)
3) Keep it (OK, that's just a dream)
Anyway, we still had a really cool Saturday. Went to Auntie Diane and Ewan's gaff, had some lovely nosh and got a little bit jolly (oh no! I'm starting to sound like Col, Sha-mole!). The meateaters had steak the size of a table and I had a tasty Asparagus Omelette. We stayed over (we slept in the Scottish room, it's beautiful). This morning I had a splitting headache and was just a wee bit tired. Went back to bed whilst the others had a massive breakfast. As soon as we got back from Di's, we went out with Sharon and Trev. Went to a fantastic pub near Hitchin, sooo lovely! Big conservatory overlooking the valley. It's supposed to be gorgeous in the summer so we'll have to go back in August maybe. The food wasn't bad either. I had Butternut Squash Thai Curry (noodle/curry training!), mmmm, tasty! Had such a food weekend!
Matty came around in the evening and we watched True Romance and Crash.
Spoke to Karro and Dad too, Karro has finally booked tickets to Chile. Her and Hugo are flying out on the 22nd. Ah!
So knackered now though - headache is coming back - got a suspicion that it's caused by South Park....
Argh! Bedtime!

Last Friday in UK?
Had a bit of a crappy day, couldn't get motivated to do anything. Damn it, wasting the days away... Might be the whole waking up at 8am, just not healthy at all..! Just too excited about the Love bug and having to check the bid situation every hour of the day.
Cooked a lovely Mexican in the evening, just ate too much though, not healthy! But it was so good! Got leftovers for lunch tomorrow too, so mmmmm, tasty!
Afterwards we went to Col's Dad's with Keith and watched Copland. Sam was a little hyper, then fell asleep on the sofa. Gonna miss that little fellow, him and the Mr Flibbles stories. Hope he doesn't change too much whilst we're away!
Watching the end of Dodgeball now, oh, it's so funny! Different version to the one we saw with Ems, still pretty cool! Need to check Ebay again! Just to make sure!

Back from Camden
Just got back in from a lovely night out with the gang. Had a few tasty Coronas (buy 1 get 1 free, mmm) and lots of catching up. Cool to see Sez, Jules, Cheryll, Mattman and Nadia, and even Dan the Ambulance Man! Lots of goss which is the way we like it! And I smell of Ralph Lauren, so can't be bad! Got picked up at the station too, so no repeat of the Christmas do night here, oh no! (attacked+police+hospital=nightmare)
Managed to get a bit of shopping done too, got our Karrimor backpacks, all set to go really! Did see a few travel agents too, the cheapest ticket works out £450 or so, which we will most likely have to go for. Not as cheap as we hoped, but have no choice I suppose...
Oh, exciting news- we now have 8 bids on the Love Bug and 570 visits! yeay! Should sort itself out now eh! Hopefully been worrying about nothing! Fingers crossed!
Beautiful Day
The sun is shining! Shopping day today! London here we come! Hopefully getting our tickets and maybe some cool bags too. Need to sort out insurance too, will have to do that tomorrow... Starting to run out of time! Had lots of interest in the Bug, so not really worrying about that at the moment. So much to do and so little time!
Off to the good old Crescent for a few drinks tonight with the Camden gang, not seen them for ages so will be good to catch up! Another leaving do eh?!

Whitstable and the Lewis's
Just got back from the SEASIDE! All that fresh air! Mmmm!
Col and I took the Love Bug for a final outing and drove to Kent to see Jan, Guss, Faithie, Sophie, Phoebe, Isis, Candy, Willow and Bailey! So lovely to see them all! They moved there from Ilford about 5 months ago and this was the first time we've been to see their new house - and it's gorgeous! (wouldn't expect anything less!)
Been far too long since I saw them last! Faith is such a big girl now! Like a teenager! Little Miss Chatterbox I think!
We went for a lovely stroll along the Sea front with Guss and the dogs, which was fantastic. They have the cutest beach huts along there, all very English. Then the boys had some oysters, as you do when you go for a stroll in Whitstable!?! Back at the house the fire was lit, yummy food was eaten and lots of chatting to catch up on everything.
This morning we were woken by SS - Sunshine and sSeagulls!! Fantastic! Jan gave us instructions on how to get to Canterbury and we headed off. Got there really quickly, found parking and wandered around the city for a few hours. It's so lovely! Full of boutiques, old, old houses, and the Cathedral of course. We didn't go in 'cos we're tight b-stards, save it for next time! It looked stunning from the outside, so next time, definately.
The drive home was very long, and I managed to get us a little bit off track again. Never saw the turn off for the M25 and Dartford Tunnel and ended up going through the East End (the tunnel was tiiiiny and scary!), luckily I know that corner of the world pretty well and got us back on the M25 after a really "clever shortcut" (so I thought anyway! Col didin't find is as amusing as I did!). We made it home in the end though! Chill out time now!

But main thing is I'M HOOKED!!
Col joins us...
