Day of rest in Siem Reap

We’re now in Siem Reap, northwestern Cambodia. Had a few hectic days before we arrived here yesterday. Firstly there was Col recovering from illness, then I was feeling poorly too. Spent longer in Phnom Penh than we thought we would. Lucky we were at Jo’s (sorry we were ill the whole time Jo!) really, not nice being ill in a hostel.

Went out for lots of lovely meals too, and did I tell you about the orphanage? It was such an experience, so glad we went. The kids were just amazing. They’ve all been rescued from the dump where they were working. Lots of them had scars and looked a little worse for wear, but they’ve got such great opportunities now. They go to school everyday for example. Will do lots of fundraising when I get back, just need to find out that the people who run the place aren’t dodgy (we hear there’s quite a few places like that…)

Managed to get out of the city for a few days, went to a place called Kratie, upriver from PP. Went in hope to see some dolphins and we did!!! It was a bit magical to say the least!!! Just us in a little boat with a very good driver and dolphins swimming around us! So cute!!!
